Saturday Is Almost Here!

The Food Trucks At The Museum friend raiser is almost here: Saturday May7, 11a to 3p. I hope everyone can come and bring a friend. If you can’t come, tell a friend about it and send them. Or, tell several friends and send them. They’re sure to be glad you did. Here is a copy of the announcement on the Downtown Development Authority’s web site (http://downtownshreveport.com/event/food-truck-at-the-museum/?instance_id=5628) with more information:

Join us as we combine 130 years of history (the McNeil Street Pumping Station), History Month (May), Mother’s Day (Sunday, May 8) and food in an event that will be both fun and filling! Tour the Shreveport Water Works Museum and hear the story about how this Victorian-era facility was responsible for the growth of downtown. Meet historic re-enactors, listen to live music from Ukulele Gumbo and Po’Boy McCoy and eat while sitting under the giant Live Oak trees along Cross Bayou.

Tee shirts and other water works memorabilia will be available for sale and a truly terrific Silent Auction will be up for grabs in the Meeting Room.  For those items that you just must have immediately, we will have a Buy It Now option. The event will be held rain or shine. The Shreveport Railroad Museum, co-located with the Water Works Museum, will also be open. This will be a fundraiser for the Shreveport Water Works Museum, so though the entry to the event is free, we ask that you consider making a donation to one of the many buckets set up for this purpose. In addition, all beverage profits will go to the SWWM.

PARKING-The SWWM will only be open for vehicles unloading persons with handicapped decals, all parking will be on the service road just across North Common Street. See you at the museum!
